First seen on the runway at Demna Gvasalia‘s debut collection for Balenciaga in spring/summer 2017, the Knife Over-the_knee boots quickly became the label’s signature, with different interpretations presented each season. Inspired by the relationship between couture and fetishism, the boots are fabricated in body-hugging spandex and sit on 110mm heels, sculpting the wearer’s silhouette and elongating the legs. This season’s take on the statement footwear features bank-note scans, a perfect reflection of the Creative Director’s brand of subversive humour about the state of the fashion industry and the way we live.
