It was the show that has been highly anticipated since its debut collection last season, with newly appointed creative director, Hedi Slimane. This time, it felt like old Celine all over again — with references from the ‘70s, spliced with a contemporary take on urban country life. Culottes in every permutation and fabric were effortlessly chic, in true Celine fashion, and such a modern way to wear tailoring; more free than a pleated skirt. Finally, Slimane gave a proposition that felt new and one that embraced the codes of this lustrous house.
