Since his appointment as the creative director of Oscar de la Renta, Peter Copping has debuted several collections (ready-to-wear, resort and bridal) for the fashion house founded by the late de la Renta who passed away last October. And now, he’s making another big unveiling: His first-ever campaign for the brand.
The fall 2015 snaps capture all-American beauty (and long time Oscar de la Renta muse) Carolyn Murphy brooding against a teal wall in a voluminous cocktail in one shot and posing next to an upholstered chair in a black shift with slits in another. The campaign, lensed by David Sims in New York City, captures the elegance and confidence that define de la Renta’s lasting legacy.
“I wanted the Fall Oscar de la Renta campaign to express the couture spirit that has always been associated with the house,” said Copping in a statement. “Carolyn Murphy, a natural beauty, seen through the lens of David Sims captures perfectly what I was looking for—a modern Oscar woman.” Well said.
