Phoebe Philo is staging a comeback after a three-year hiatus. The former creative director of Celine is launching her eponymous label with a minority investment from LVMH. According to industry insiders, the British designer will have full reign over her new brand.
Philo’s exit from Celine—where she successfully revived the label (also owned by LVMH) and created clothes and accessories that were coveted by women all over the world— shook the industry in 2017.

Some even speculated that the celebrated designer might take up directorship positions at Alaïa or Chanel. Little did we know that the designer has actually been quietly working on the Phoebe Philo Studio from her London abode.
“Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling,” said Philo. “I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me.”
“I have had a very constructive and creative working relationship with LVMH for many years. So it is a natural progression for us to reconnect on this new project,” Philo elaborated.
