The Duchess of Sussex might always be making headlines for her supposedly controversial and etiquette-bending fashion choices, but Lady Amelia Windsor last night made a style move that not even Meghan has attempted. The young royal – who was attending the preview of the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition – unexpectedly teamed her feminine frock with a pair of chunky trainers.

Windsor wore a beautiful long, cream satin dress with a bow detail at the shoulder and a lace trim by Stella McCartney. The slinky dress was given an edgy finish as it was paired with chunky white trainers with a pink sole, also by the British designer. Windsor added some delicate gold jewellery to the look and a blue leather handbag.

Her chic dressing-down of the silk frock is yet another example of Windsor’s budding fashion sense, who also made headlines last month with her elegant choice of ensemble to Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding.

She chose a pink, oversized, printed dress by Gül Hürgel and espadrille wedges – an unexpected choice for a royal wedding, but one which received plenty of praise from most fashion critics.

Lady Amelia Windsor may well be making a name for herself as one of the best-dressed members of the British royal family.
