Zendaya Met Gala

The 2023 Met Gala has come and gone—and Zendaya was nowhere to be found.

She hasn't yet explained why she skipped the star-studded event, but her absence probably comes as no surprise to fans who have noted that she hasn't been to the Met Gala in four years.

Zendaya last graced the carpeted steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2019, when she appeared alongside her friend and longtime stylist, Law Roach. Honouring that year's theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," the two created a magical moment on the pink carpet by dressing up as Cinderella and the fairy godmother, courtesy of dazzling icy blue looks by Tommy Hilfiger.

Zendaya Met Gala

Even though Zendaya hasn't delivered another iconic outfit to go down in Met Gala history this year, we always have her other 2023 red-carpet outfits to fondly look back on.

Most recently, Zendaya attended Las Vegas's CinemaCon in a sophisticated Louis Vuitton suit, which included a plunging vest with a sultry backless feature paired with oversized cuffed barrel pants.

Prior to that, the actor went to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre Gala in Mumbai, India, where she dazzled in a one-shouldered sari by Rahul Mishra. The midnight blue gown featured a triangle bralette covered with gold-leaf filigree, plus a swath of sheer crystal-embroidered fabric draping over the left side of her torso and fanning out into a full-length sheer cape over her left shoulder.

And this past February, Zendaya once again made a statement at the Screen Actor Guild Awards, where she looked pretty in a pink custom-made Valentino gown. The pale pink piece consisted of a corseted bodice and large rosettes, the latter of which were embroidered all over the body-hugging skirt. During the actual ceremony, she changed into a color block gown by Armani Privé, which featured a sequined black bustier, pale pink and baby blue panels, and a torso cutout.
