After being cooped up at home for more than two months, it’s understandable that a little retail therapy — or revenge shopping — is in order. As everyone heads out to shop in Phase Two, we’re more than likely to splurge on a handbag we’ve been coveting. EIC Kenneth Goh shares his favourite arm-candies of the season on One FM 9.13 with DJ Angel, everything from top handle bags reminiscent of our grandmother’s era to the iconic blue-hued shoulder bags famously sported by Singapore Airlines stewardesses back in the day. 1. Monogramme Calf Leather Shoulder Bag, Michael Kors, $1,889
This glorious vermillion hued shoulder bag from Michael Kors is such a steal. Crafted from ultra supple calf leather in Italy, the Monogramme shoulder bag epitomises sophistication with a cool girl appeal. It also has suede lining, silver-tone metal hardware and adjustable straps. Wear it with a classic white shirt and jean combo for the ultimate business casual look with a pop of fun. This is from the spring 2020 collection, and it’s retailing for only $1,889 (used to be $3,789).
2. Field Tote With Horse And Carriage Print And Varsity Stripe, Coach, $750
If you’re all about that tote bag life, Coach’s rendition featuring a horse and carriage print overlaid with varsity stripes in gorgeous velvet is your best bet. It’ll pair beautifully with any neutral-toned outfit and give it a whimsically pop of colour. Crafted from polished pebble leather and sturdy coated canvas, it’s large enough to fit all of your daily essentials, and at a very affordable price point too.

Use it as your everyday bag or for when you want to dress like a #bosslady but still want to keep it fun. If that isn’t enough to entice you, it also has a new removable weather-proof raincoat so it’s perfect for our tropical climate.
4. Textured Metal Top Handle Bag, Charles & Keith, $75.90
Here’s a contemporary cool option from Charles & Keith that’s sleek, sophisticated, ultra cool and doesn’t cost the world. Featuring clean lines and silver-tone metal hardware, this faux suede bag comes in three colours: midnight blue, black and nude. The black and nude versions feature gold-tone hardware. We particularly like the midnight blue version for its everyday-bag appeal, but the gold-toned editions have their place in your wardrobe too—especially for dressier occasions or even for date night.

5. Piper S Dome Bag, Furla, $414
Furla’s new season Piper tote bag in this ultra feminine pink shade will be a great addition to your back to work wardrobe. There’s something quite elegant about it yet, fun and playful. So if you identify with those keywords, dare we say this is a match made in heaven? Which makes it the perfect bag for when you’re out having brunch with the girls, running errands or simply walking about Gardens by the Bay with your beau.
