Rihanna Wore Head-to-Toe Patent Leather to the Grammys

She might've skipped the red carpet, but she still made a grand entrance

One of music's biggest fashion powerhouses, Rihanna, was missing from the Grammys red carpet this evening, which kept fans guessing what head-turning look the singer would wear for this year's ceremony. But missing the carpet wasn't an issue for Badgal Riri; she showed off her look on stage while accepting an award.

She and Kendrick Lamar had the first win at tonight's ceremony, for Best Rap/Sung Performance, for their collaboration, "Loyalty." They even beat out JAY-Z and Beyoncé and SZA and Travis Scott for the win.

When Rihanna got to the stage, we finally got to see her look: a head-to-toe chocolate patent-leather ensemble. The outfit consisted completely of Alexandre Vauthier haute couture pieces, including an off-the-shoulder belted trench coat, slouchy boots and, best of all, matching gloves. Her thick, voluminous curls were the perfect final touch.

The shiny, monochrome ensemble was stunning, but we wouldn't be surprised if this was only the first of many looks Rihanna wears this evening. After all, she's been teasing us with some jaw-dropping looks this weekend, like this fur coat and corset:

Or this all-white, super-extra ironing outfit:

Kendrick was sure to give Rihanna a shoutout during his acceptance speech. "She came through and gassed me on that record, gassed me on my own song and whatnot, man. So this really belongs to her," he said of his collaborator.

She responded with gratitude. "Well, thank you, Kendrick for giving me this incredible opportunity to be on such a great record," Rihanna said at the mic. "I love this record and I'm honored to do this with you. Congrats, you deserve this, man."
