Met Gala 2023: Robert Pattinson And Suki Waterhouse Have A Rare Date Night
The actress put forth her own personal take on the naked dress trend.
Met Gala Monday has officially welcomed a rare red-carpet appearance from Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson.
For the first time, the ultra-private couple walked the Metropolitan Museum of Art's carpeted steps together. Waterhouse embraced the naked dress trend in a completely sheer Fendi gown, which was covered all over in pale yellow, coral, and basil green floral embroidery. She capped the look off with bedazzled strappy heels.

Meanwhile, Pattinson opted for a black Dior Men tux with a pleated skirt detail, plus a white dress shirt adorned with a gold brooch.
Though Waterhouse and Pattinson have been linked to each other since 2018, they only recently made their red-carpet debut at the Dior fall 2023 menswear show last December. Their Met Gala walk therefore marks a rare joint public appearance by the couple.
The Daisy Jones and The Six actress opened up about her relationship with Pattinson in a February 2023 interview with The Times.

"I'm shocked that I'm so happy with someone for nearly five years," she told the outlet. "I'm always incredibly excited when I see his name pop up [on my phone] or even a text, and I think he feels the same about me. We've always got so much to say, and I find him hilarious."
The 2023 Met Gala's theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," pays homage to the life and legacy of the late Chanel creative director.

The Costume Institute describes the spring 2023 exhibition as an exploration of "the work of Karl Lagerfeld. Focusing on the designer’s stylistic vocabulary as expressed in aesthetic themes that appear time and again in his fashions from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019, the show will spotlight the German-born designer’s unique working methodology."
The exhibition will additionally showcase about 150 of Lagerfeld's designs, as well as some of his sketches, both of which "underscore his complex creative process and the collaborative relationships with his premières, or head seamstresses. Lagerfeld’s fluid lines united his designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld, creating a diverse and prolific body of work unparalleled in the history of fashion."
