This season is a special one for the house of Chanel as it celebrates its 110th year in creating haute couture; making it the world’s oldest, active couture house. In true Chanel fashion, its Creation Studio marked this special occasion by bringing focus to its artistry and craftsmanship with a spirit of lightness and youthfulness shown through the chosen materials and colours and an air of youthfulness in its silhouettes. It felt like a palette cleanser of sorts—after Virginie Viard’s departure last year, and before Matthieu Blazy works his magic in a couple of months.

Held at the centre of the Grand Palais, Chanel erected a stage in the form of double-Cs, which also formed an infinity symbol; an important note since the spring/summer 2025 haute couture collection is spotlighted around Gabrielle Chanel, her work and ideals. Joyous pastels in delicate fabrics were anchored in strong monochromatic elements, sophisticated tweeds and precious elements were rendered in fuss-free short-suit ensembles, and embroidered chiffons, sequins and pleated details reinforced the sophisticated yet freeing codes of Chanel. Below, our favourite looks from the collection.

An ensemble true to Coco Chanel’s wardrobe choices (with an inner shirt, of course), a classic two-piece with wide-legged trousers is as effortless and classy it comes. Covered in pastel chiffon pallets on top of sequined camellias on a cream base, the reflection of light and colours at every turn is a visual treat in itself.

Upon closer look, one will spot precious gems lining the feathered portions and thin straps, as well as the gloves’ buttons—minute yet significant details for that sprinkle of sparkle.

Crafted in a delightful mix of pistachio, mint green, and gold tweed, this short-set is the epitome of the phrase “more than meets the eye”. While the silhouette and colour palette bring a youthful touch, it is essentially grounded in luxurious elements of preciously-detailed buttons and crystals around its edges.

Playing on the fact that Coco Chanel was deeply interested in astrology, the crystal-embroidered flounced sleeves were created in the likeness of the solar system; a touch of magic in itself. Of course, in the physical world, she also believed that women should be entitled to the freedom of movement, thus the vents in the shorts that will provide ultimate ease.

Perfect as a wedding number with or without the sheer topper, this drop waist dress with an embroidered top and pleated tiered skirt is as dreamy as it is practical. Let’s just say that Gracie Abrams would work this dress on stage strumming a guitar, belting out her gutsy hits, adding her laidback cool, bringing this sophisticated look up a notch.
