These days, models have more than one career choice tucked up their sleeve. New York educator Sam Worthen, who teaches eighth grade English at school in Bushwick, is one of them. The 24-year-old teacher is also a professional model, and has walked the coveted runway for Diesel, DKNY, Alexander McQueen and, ironically, Public School—all after the bell rings, of course.

The teacher only takes jobs on weekends and school holidays, he told NY Daily News, and “will never accept a modeling job that compromises my students’ learning.” Discovered on the train by a fellow model, Worthen is now signed under RED NYC agency and says that he has using the extra income to buy more books for his students. All together now: Awww! Where were such teachers when we were in school?
