Members of the arts community, and especially the less established ones from the younger generation, have been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. In response, Self-Portrait has launched a global initiative to bolster and nurture these emerging creative talents by inviting them to submit their work for the brand's fall/winter 2020 campaign. Winning entries will be awarded a cash prize. “I want to support and foster this thriving creative community whose artistic expression refuses to be limited during these challenging times. Investing in the next generation of talent is fundamental,” says Han Chong, the founder and creative director of the London-based brand.

The project takes the idea of Hope as its central theme and the competition is open to all art practices, be it photography, video, collage or others. A jury panel of industry experts, led by Chong, will select five winning works with each winner receiving £5000. The competition is open for submissions via Instagram until August 7, with the full brief available here.
