New Weave
For spring/summer 2023, Hedi Slimane traded the gritty cool of Saint Germain des Pres for the sun-soaked charm of Saint-Tropez. With the iconic French Riviera destination du jour and his own beach house, Villa Kerouac, setting the scene, Slimane presented his latest collection of skinny jeans, shaggy coats, louche tailoring and Y2K-inflected micro-dresses. To turn the temperature up even higher, the designer has also launched a capsule collection of accessories inspired by Purple Noon, the Alain Delon-starring movie that remains until today the blueprint of effortless Sixties French summer style. The star piece of the capsule is undoubtedly the Triomphe shoulder bag, reinvented in raffia—the intricate weave of which requires each piece to be handcrafted—and accented with the House’s signature gold hardware.
