As if SKIMS wasn’t buzzy enough, the brand just announced that it’s taking center stage at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics with a new Team USA partnership. Bringing its impeccable fit and supportive material to the world-famous events, the basics label, known for its highly coveted pieces with viral appeal, designed an official, limited-edition collection of undergarments, pajamas, and loungewear for all the U.S. women athletes competing in the games to ensure maximum comfort during their downtime.

The campaign features a range of female competitors, including soccer player Alex Morgan, Olympic swimmer Haley Anderson, basketball player A’ja Wilson, as well as track and field athletes Scout Bassett and Dalilah Muhammad. Each athlete wears a different style (and colorway) from the collection respective to their sport, showing off the pieces emblazoned with the ring logo in the process.
“We’re so proud to be supporting female athletes during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo,” Kim Kardashian, cofounder of SKIMS, said. “These women are incredible role models for younger girls, including my own daughters, showing them that anything is possible if you work hard enough. [It] is designed to empower women to feel their best every day and we’re excited to work with Team USA to help spread this message.”
Attributing her initial interest in the games to her stepdad and former track star, Caitlyn Jenner, Kardashian announced the news in an Instagram post, calling her latest venture a “full circle” moment that she’s honored to be part of. “Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad,” she shared. “When I received the call inviting Skims to be a part of @TeamUSA 🇺🇸, every moment I’ve spent admiring the strength and energy of the Olympians from the sidelines came full circle.”
In addition to outfitting Team USA, Kardashian will be marking the occasion with a limited-edition selection that will be available for the masses online in mid-July. They’re perfect to wear while cheering on your favorite athletes from the comfort of your couch—and will forever remind you of summer ’21.
