Presented off-calendar, the Métiers d’art is a special presentation that shows off Chanel’s savoir-faire and craftsmanship.

Last December, creative director Virginie Viard showed her first Métiers d’art titled Paris – 31 rue Cambon in Grand Palais, and the set was inspired by the Art Deco staircase in Coco Chanel’s apartment located on the second floor of 31 Rue Cambon.

The collection featured modern silhouettes and layers of richly textured details such as lush embroidery, interspersed with feather and flower appliqués as well as stacks of crystal bangles and gilded bracelets,.

On the day before the show, film director and producer Sophia Coppola was invited by Viard to film the final prep for the collection.

This behind-the-scene video takes us on a tour of the fittings, the set-up at Grand Palais punctuated with insights from Virgine Viard.
