American film director and longtime friend of the House of Chanel Sofia Coppola has collaborated with the iconic French brand to create a video montage in lieu of the fifth chapter of Mademoiselle Privé, aptly titled ‘IN HOMAGE TO MADEMOISELLE’ As Seen By Sofia Coppola.
Images and videos from archives, advertising and film extracts make up the video montage, delivering a contemporary yet nostalgic visual. It’s the perfect amalgamation of Coppola’s directorial aesthetic and Chanel’s timeless style.
The exhibition consists of three distinct worlds within Chanel: Haute couture, the iconic N°5 fragrance and high jewellery—featuring the one and only “Bijoux de Diamants” collection designed by Gabrielle Chanel in 1921.
The exhibition will be held in Tokyo, Japan from October 19th to December 1st 2019 at the B&C HALL in Tennoz, Shinagawa.
