The study on femininity continues for Prada FW23 collection. The long and lean silhouette that was introduced seasons before now comes in exaggerated lengths sometimes trailing behind like some of the beautiful cotton numbers. They look pretty… simple? Not. Of course, there’s always more than meets the eye with someone like Miuccia Prada. The juxtaposition of those simplistic languor with the decoratifs floral elements create beauty. Call it Prada-ism.
There’s also the study of minimalism and maximalism in the collection in what seems to be the best use of A, H, and Y silhouettes since their original outings in the Fifties and Sixties. They look fresh now in pastels, whites, and those printed dresses that will launch a thousand likes on Instagram. And with the buoyant Blue Danube Waltz blasting on the speakers as Gigi, Kendall and the other models walked their finale, one couldn’t help but wonder: Is the joy of fashion back again? It apparently is at Prada.
