Veronica Leoni’s designs are functional as they are stunning. A native of Rome, she honed her craft as head designer of knitwear together with Jil Sander as well as spending four years with Phoebe Philo in Celine as head of pre-collection.

Leoni took over the role of designing womenswear at Moncler in 2018, and has since rolled out several inspiring collections.

The latest 2 Moncler 1952 for women is no exception.

“Imagining an army of women on a quest for a lost paradise, I looked at the exoticism of the beginning of the 20th century and interpreted it in a modern, intensely functional way,” Leoni says in a press statement. “It’s all about femininity and elegance, with a twistedly practical angle.”

Inspired by the great outdoors, the offerings are also distinctively feminine, where kimono-inspired coats are given a softer and longer shape. Marrying both style and function, she replaces silks with technical fabrics with thoughtful details such as drawstrings and cords that also allows the clothes to be worn in different ways.
