Launched just three seasons ago, Monreal London is the brainchild of German-born designer Stefani Grosse who couldn’t find tennis wear she loved when playing sport. Using highly functional and technical fabrications from Italy, Grosse, who was trained as a designer at Calvin Klein Collection in New York, has created a luxury sportswear brand that is fresh and chic yet thoroughly functional and breathable.

Creative Director Mary Alice Malone started the brand with managing director Roy Luwolt after studying cordwaining at London College of Fashion. The Pennsylvania native’s favourite course in school was colour theory and it’s evident in her designs. She plays with bold colours and tactile materials (pony hair, exotic skins, suede and calf leathers) on her footwear, each becoming a statement on its own instead of just an accessory to an outfit.
