The dress above, shown at the recent Dior Haute Couture spring/summer 2020 collection, features an application of 140 metres of 7 different laces dyed in three different colours, and takes 1,500 hours by seven couturiers working on the dress to make it.

It's an amazing piece of work from the Dior team, under the guidance of Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Watch the interview below to learn what's the inspiration behind the collection.

Here, we see the dress being made and the attention to meticulous detail it requires; a very delicate, artisanal technique is used. The lace appliques are done entirely by hand, and the goal is for the piece to look as though the fabric is placed on the model, without having been sewn.
