Jeremy Scott isn’t the only designer to feature pop culture icons in his collections—Sophia Webster has taken a page from the Moschino book of pop culture-inspired fashion for her latest capsule collection.
Inspired by the doll with the closet that could make even the most well-dressed editor, model or celebrity feel inadequate, the footwear designer is collaborating with Mattel’s Barbie for a series of shoes worthy of the style icon. The collection features a range of pumps, sandals, sneakers and flats (because Barbie can wear those now), all with the girlish adornments, shine, sparkle and shades of pink that are her signature.
“Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting and deeply personal,” Webster told Footwear News. “I love that this concept strikes a balance between dreams and reality.”
