A return to ladylike glamour is in store for the coming season. The accessories for fall/winter 2015 were plentiful, but one stood out from the rest: the top handle bag. With its structured trapezoid shape and elegant lines, it signalled the return of the elegant retro chic look. The Bohemian '70s was also a strong influence this season and, of course, it showed on the bags as well. But look closely at the materials used and you'll find that this is by far a more luxurious interpretation of the artistic spirit of yore. Valentino's Mime Bag, for example, is made of painted feathers embroidered on nappa leather, while the Fendi Peekaboo's bejewelled exterior makes for an opulent flapper-meets-Bohemian adaptation, and Aigner's hand painted number distills the free-spirited, nature-loving essence of the trend.
