Tommy Hilfiger & Gigi Hadid's Second Fashion Show Won't Be In New York
The designer and model's collab will take on a new city for Spring 2017
Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger's first collaboration dominated New York Fashion Week with a blowout see-now, buy-now show but for their second installation, the duo is heading to a new city.
According to WWD, the designer will stage his Spring 2017 show in Los Angeles' Venice Beach as opposed to New York for the first time ever. The February show will mark the second Tommy x Gigi collaboration and following the success of the Fall 2016 show, will also be ready to shop immediately off the runway.
With Hadid at the front and center of the collection, a Cali-based show makes perfect sense for the American designer, who saw double-digit growth in sales and a 900% website traffic increase following his first collection with the It model.
"The casual, cool, chic look that is leading the fashion world this season was born and bred in L.A., and I knew this show would feel at home on Venice Beach," Hilfiger said in a press release.
The oceanside show will use the beach as its runwayon February, 8 2017—the eve of New York Fashion Week. And following September's Tommy x Gigi carnival spectacle at NYFW—which included an entire pier filled with carnival games, food, rides and shopping—we're sure the duo has another blowoutplanned to take over the West Coast.
