News on the street today is that Tommy Ton, one of the original street style photographers, has launched his own independent website—TommyTon.com—that houses an impressive archive of photos from the past decade, including those that he has captured for websites such as Style.com and his own previous blog, Jak & Jil. Featuring over 15,000 snapshots of the most famous names in fashion and a bevy of street style stars that Ton’s unerring eye has helped to propel into the collective consciousness of the fashion-savvy in every corner of the world.

“When Style.com and my contract concluded, I just felt like it was time for me to start off fresh again and return to what my original intentions were when I first started my blog eight years ago with Jak & Jil. And just to have fun,” Ton told the Business of Fashion. “I wanted to be able to focus on my independent voice again and to experience fashion month not being on deadline for anyone else.”

For the upcoming spring/summer 2016 shows, Ton will be covering the shows as usual, taking his spot on the streets to capture all the original style mavens and delicious peacocking that goes on outside the fashion shows. With New York Fashion Week starting in just a week, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the return of the king of street style photography again.
