Some of the biggest successes come from the biggest dreams and Diane von Furstenberg is a classic example. The Belgian got a $30,000 loan from her father in 1972 and arrived in America with a suitcase full of her dress designs and a personal mission to dress independent, modern women. By 1974, the “Diane dress” was a big hit because it was versatile, sexy and liberating. By 1976, she had sold over a million of the dresses. The iconic jersey wrap dress is comfortable, hugs all the right places and continues to be a cult item for women on the go.

Staying to true to the eponymous line’s bold approach to print and celebrating sensual femininity, the brand has introduced a new vintage print in the fall/winter 2019 collection. The newspaper print is actually purposed from a black and white collage of seven articles highlighting von Furstenberg’s successful launch of the wrap dress and key moments of her career.

“DVF designs for the woman who wants it all and our job is to give her the tools to be the woman she wants to be,” said Diane von Furstenberg. Focusing on creating elegant pieces for modern working women, the flattering designs are easy to wear, effortless and appropriate for work or play.
