Internationally renowned fashion designer Vivienne Tam has designed an exclusive limited edition bag for UOB, her first collaboration with a Singaporean company. Available in black and gold, this bag features intricate cut-out details inspired by the lotus flower. Tam is known for interpreting traditional Asian motifs for modern aesthetic concepts, and her design for UOB specifically celebrates Singapore’s modern outlook helmed by its traditional values.
“I chose to collaborate with UOB because it is a great supporter of art and local artists—something that is very dear to my heart. But most important of all, our collaboration is for the celebration of SG50,” Tam said. “For the bag, I chose the lotus design because its roots grow in muddy water, but the flower rises above the mud to bloom. It represents our life experiences and how we break free in order to excel. A gold lotus signifies enlightenment and purity.”
