10 Items We Hope To See In The Victoria Beckham X Target Collection

As previously reported this morning, Victoria Beckham is teaming up with Target to create her first high-street collection launching in April 2017.

It's a smart move for the designer, who has long wanted to conquer America. Target has 1,800 stores across the US—its reach is huge. According to a statement, the collection will feature easy-to-wear dresses, jumpsuits and playful tops and bottoms for women, as well as her first foray into childrenswear.

Beckham says that the offering will be inspired by Victoria, Victoria Beckham, her refined diffusion label that reflects the "playful" side of her style. The line also features many of the initial styles that the designer has now became known for, like the shift dress, fitted silhouettes and flared skirts. It's probably a safe bet to assume that her Target collection will be based on a few of those signatures.

These are the 10 items we predict to see in Beckham's high-street debut next April!

A midi skirt

Beckham loves herself a midi skirt, whether worn with a shirt as pictured here, or a silky camisole. While it's easy to write the midi-length off as a little dowdy, they're actually an easy fast-track to autumn/winter 2016 chic.

A loose shirt

Downtime Beckham likes nothing more than a loose, unbuttoned shirt, rolled up to the elbow, worn with either a midi skirt or a pair of wide-leg trousers, which brings us neatly to our next point.

Worn with either Stan Smith trainers, sandals or heels, Beckham's penchant for flared trousers is prevalent on both the catwalk and through her own style choices. Be gone the skinny jean once and for all.

Beckham's personal style evolution – ie a move from fitted silhouettes to more fluid, loose shapes – has filtered down to her fashion collections. A midi-length slip dress is a favourite of hers, to be worn with a polo neck for cooler evenings.

One of Beckham's original collection hits was the shift dress, a style that appealed to working women who wanted to look both stylish and formal in the office.

Once upon a time, Beckham was only ever pictured in towering heels. Now, the landscape has changed and she's big on leather sandals and box-fresh trainers. Expect to see a pair of chic flats in her Target range.
