They're from a buzzy designer collaboration.

Rihanna's triumphant comeback performance at Super Bowl LVII checked every box on her fans' wishlists: She sang all her hits ("Work," "Umbrella," and "Diamonds" included), brought a "surprise guest" (also known as announcing her second pregnancy), and kicked off a second inspiring maternity style streak.

About Rihanna's history-making halftime show look: Part of it is available to shop right now. Draped in monochromatic red for her entire performance, the mogul wore a red look by Loewe and two coats both custom from Alaïa by Pieter Mullier. As for the shoes? Chunky MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon sneakers that are still in stock at Maison Margiela's online store.

But there's more to Rihanna's chosen designer footwear collab than merely being cool sneakers that debuted on the Maison Margiela fall 2022 runway. These sneakers have an elevated, grippy lug-sole and a snug upper—the sort of shoes that wouldn't slip while executing intense Parris Goebel-created choreography on a levitating platform, all while pregnant. And there's a chance the sneakers could appear again in Rihanna's forthcoming maternity street style: Away from the Super Bowl stage, they're the sort of supportive city-to-street sneaker that can double as a directional walking shoe.

Some pieces for such a special performance had to be just Rihanna's. In addition to her custom coats, she also accessorised with a bespoke "Mom" ring. Her sneakers, however, are still available for now. And if you miss them, more Salomon collaborations Rihanna could approve are in the fashion pipeline: On Sandy Liang's fall 2023 runway at New York Fashion Week, models debuted more elevated sneakers from an upcoming collaboration between the two brands.
