Alexander Wang and muse Anna Ewers at the 2015 CFDA Awards
You may or may not recall that at the 1995 edition of the Oscars, costume designer Lizzy Gardiner crafted and wore a dress made entirely of expired American Express Gold Cards. Well, Alexander Wang just gave her a cheeky nod in a big way: He designed a dress using more than 500 AmEx cards for this year's CFDA Awards.

His muse, model Anna Ewers, wore the creation, a decidedly more demure (and stylish) take on the idea. Ewers's version is a chain-like mini studded throughout with the repurposed cards and paired with sky high flatform boots from his fall/winter 2015 collection. The resulting look, which showed off the model's fit physique, is a DIY dream.
