More is more seemed to be the mantra for Chanel haute couture this season and Karl Lagerfeld did not hold back! In addition to frothy embellishments, collars were bejewelled and skirts befringed, making for a textural overload that left the eye coming back for more. What’s new this season was the reintroduction of a newer, more demure skirt length for the Chanel couture lady, a fuller, rounder shape for sleeves, interesting materials such as wood shavings for collar embellishments (Karl Lagerfeld’s comment on being environmentally sustainable, perhaps?) and beautifully matching capes for evening.
