With the recent hype surrounding Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s latest movie, Air, there’s never been a better time to revisit Eilish’s Air Jordan collaboration. The classic sneakers were given the Eilish treatment with the signature lime-green hue of her hair, as well as a material update — at least 20% recycled materials were used. Apart from all that, when Eilish co-chaired the 2021 Met Gala, she made sure that Oscar de la Renta — who she wore that night — terminated all its fur sales for her red carpet endorsement.

Climate change might wipe out our water supply if we’re not careful — so Matt Damon’s taking things into his own hands. The Oscar-winning actor co-founded non-profit organisation Water.org in 2009, aimed at providing people with access to clean water. Together, they’ve helped more than 43 million people get access to safe water and sanitation through WaterCredit, an affordable financing program that empowers those in need to help themselves through small loans. 

It’s really heartening to see younger celebrities show their passion for protecting the earth, and humanity at large. Here comes Jaden Smith, the son of none other than Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Did you know that he started a food truck to feed the needy? Not only that, his food truck is 100% vegan, reducing its carbon footprint in waves. The “I Love You” truck debuted pre-Covid, feeding the homeless community in Los Angeles with plant-based food. His vegan food truck feeds close to 300 residents at every pop-up, giving them access to water and food while also educating the community at large about the importance of going plant-based, too.

This singer isn’t just “frontin” sustainability campaigns — he practises what he preaches. Not only is he modelling for fashion brands and making sick music, he’s also the creative director of Bionic Yarn, a company that spins plastic waste into high-grade textiles. Not only are they turning waste into want, the organisation has also set up plastic recovery infrastructure around the coastlines of communities in need to provide jobs and waste management opportunities. What happens when you take a genie from her bottle? She’ll bottle something else instead — like vegan lube, in the case of Christina Aguilera. The singer has collaborated with Playground to produce all-natural vegan lubricant for women, signalling a shift in the sexual wellness industry. Where some products from mainstream brands might have been tested on animals or contain animal-derived ingredients, this vegan lube is purportedly cruelty-free. Using ingredients such as fermented bamboo extract,  ashwagandha, horny goat weed, and black cohosh, the packaging is also sustainably sourced, with bottles and caps that are made of 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and boxes made from 30% post-consumer waste.

As much as we buy into Formula 1 fever, we have to admit that it’s not the best showcase of humans being responsible to the earth. BTS aims to change the way we think about race cars with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. With all seven members being Formula E ambassadors, the band proudly promotes the only race in the world which uses electric cars. Similarly on the automobile front, the boys also fronted the campaign for Hyundai’s IONIQ electric car. Of the campaign, BTS’ Suga said “We hope this song will inspire everyone to find time for what matters most and they can do the right thing for a cleaner future.”
