But luxury resale site Vestiaire Collective has collated research into the shopping trends of its French customers and it seems that their taste is changing - from more relaxed silhouettes to a newfound love of red. Forget the skinny, French women are investing in new denim shapes - from the straight-leg to the cropped flare. Vintage Levi's, for example, have seen a search increase of 300 percent compared to last year.

The market basket, made famous by Jane Birkin who wore hers in Paris in the 70s, reflects a more vintage French style and has proved to be the summer's must-have accessory. The basket bag has seen a 350 percent increase in searches since last year.
