A mastery of tailoring, layering and street references, Riccardo Tisci rolled back the best of his strengths to push out a stellar collection for Burberry.

Walking to an ethereal soundscape provided by opera singer Nadine Sierra and the London Contemporary Orchestra, punk sirens glided in standout fishnet dresses layered over bodysuits and lingerie babydoll slips. Darkened checks made a beautiful exit with white t-shirts to give it a sporty vibe, which are signatures of Tisci. Trenches in cotton gaberdine were backed with towelling fabrics in matching colours with extended sides to give the illusion of flight.

If this was a collection to show the strength of a modern British house with their hands firmly on the pulse of pop culture, sportswear and street, this was the moment.

The show was attended by global stars including Bright Vachirawit, Kanye West and Simone Ashley.
