Asia's Next Top Model Episode Three Recap: Dramatic Cuts And Chops Galore
Snip, snip! The drama of getting a new haircut is amplified for the top model hopefuls
This week was a truly hair-raising experience as the girls faced their most major challenge to date: Getting a hair makeover courtesy of the judges. While some of the models embraced their way to the top of the best tressed list, others were not so fortunate and didn't make the cut.
Although, we do have to say that entering a salon with no preparation whatsoever and hearing the judges pronounce cryptic judgements on what they were going to do with one's hair would make any one's hair stand on end.
Of course, minutes into the hair cut and the waterworks parade immediately started, most were sad to see their lustrous locks be snipped into oblivion, but a few standouts were immediately obvious: Sang In, who took her hair cut with a can-do attitude; Tuti, who totally rocked her Rihanna/Kenneth Goh hairstyle; and Tawan, who looked really great in her short high fashion crop.
Then came the next challenge—shooting their modelling calling card in 20 short minutes, plus they had to show off their versatility by styling themselves to show off their different looks. High standards. As the models rushed through their poses, Sang In was curled up in a ball on the couch, obviously not feeling well. After a quick jaunt to the hospital though, she was back on her feet and pulled through her illness to work her best angles for the camera. Professional.
Best moment: When all the girls were bringing on the rain parade at the salon, and Sang In was all like, "They can do whatever to my hair, meh."
Worst moment: All the crying when the hair transformations started. Get. A. Grip.
Challenge winner this week: Sang In was the star this week for pulling through her illness and serving up some top model-worthy realness.
Who got kicked off: Mai Ngo got the chop, literally, for not embracing her fresh new look.
