Bad Binch TongTong Spring/Summer 2024 Serves Alien Fantasy With Performance Art
Get ready to be blown out of this world.
Extraterrestrials, dance and storytelling all converged at New York’s Tribeca Synagogue over the weekend for an exhilarating sophomore collection from Bad Binch TongTong.
Designer Terrence Zhou continues to do what he does best for his Spring/Summer 2024 collection – creating clothing and silhouettes that appear to be an extension of the human body while exploring the complexities of human emotion, particularly his own.
The prolific designer tapped Stefanie Nelson of Stefanie Nelson Dance Group, and AHRC NYC, an organization dedicated to serving people with disabilities, to choreograph an alluring performance that tells Zhou’s story with dancers clad in outfits inspired by octopi, butterflies and geometric shapes.

The show in itself was an unpredictable process; even the audience had a part to play, which required them to let go and trust in the beauty of Zhou's creative expression and vision. Of course, Zhou also pushed his own boundaries for this collection by incorporating more vibrant colours instead of leaning solely on a monochromatic palette. With sustainability in mind, he also used discarded fabrics, leftover cuts and donated clothes to bring this collection to life.
