Everyone who knows Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore knows that we’re all about appreciating the finer things in life, and the premier purveyor of fine Belgian leather, Delvaux, offers just that. The oldest fine leather luxury goods house in the world, Delvaux is truly one of a kind when it comes to manufacturing gorgeous bags in timeless silhouettes of all shapes and sizes. This past week, BAZAAR invited a select few special guests to come experience the magic of Delvaux for themselves by getting up close and personal with the brand’s bags, from the classic Brillant dating back to 1958’s World Fair in Brussels to the chic, modern Lingot released just last year.

Fresh off the heels of Delvaux’s first-ever Autumn/Winter 2023 presentation in Singapore, the exclusive event was a magical evening which took guests through the brand’s illustrious history, and gave them a detailed look at the elegant craftsmanship which makes a Delvaux, a Delvaux. It’s no coincidence that Delvaux also shares a special connection with legendary Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte, whose penchant for witty, unfamiliar conceptual art is reflected in Delvaux’s affection for the avant-garde. And 125 years after Magritte was born, Delvaux continues carrying on his legacy both literally – the brand’s Magritte collection is a hit with both fashion and art enthusiasts alike – and figuratively as another flag-bearer of Belgian culture.
