The hair, the eyes, the cheeks, the lips—it’s all perfection. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Golden Globe winner Angela Bassett, who has been bringing glam to red carpets for decades.
The Crown actress’s beachy waves are the perfect blend of old and new Hollywood, created by stylist Mara Roszak using Phyto. And for her effortless no makeup-makeup look? Artist Mary Wiles kept things simple.
“We wanted to keep the look fresh and pretty and enhance Elizabeth’s beauty,” she explains in a statement. “Concentrating on beautiful, prepped skin, a simple defined brow, a little contour to the eyes and cheeks, keeping tones very simple and natural.”

It’s hard to figure out what we love more: The actress’s bold lashes or enviable haircut. To help the star’s bob get sky-high volume, celebrity stylist David Stanwell used Fekkai’s Root Lift Spray.
“We took a little risk, but I believe it’s good to have fun and try new things by just tweaking a little here and there,” Stanwell says in a statement. “We didn’t want it too rigid or set, and I still wanted to work with the haircut we had just done a few weeks ago. I love having the haircut make a statement, sculpting it around her face and playing with shapes that work.”
As for makeup, artist Vincent Oquendo says he wanted to do something she’s “never done before.” “But I wanted it to look like her and not have the makeup take over the total look. So I had all of these images of Sophia Loren, and we felt really attracted to this triple eyeliner look,” he says. He layered matte eyeshadows, liners, mascaras, and individual lashes to get the look, then used a “very light” skin tint, a little contour, and a tangerine blush.
