As a tribute to presenting Valentino’s Pre-Fall 2019 show in Tokyo for the first time, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli referenced the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi – the concept of embracing and appreciating beauty in imperfection, and kintsugi – the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic pieces.
