The Best Makeup Looks From The Spring 2019 Runways
Adeam
image

A sheer bronze eye and glossy lip were the perfect neutral base for the bedazzled nails at Adeam.

Area
image

It was all about holographic purple-pink highlighter traded across the cheekbones at Area.

Brock Collection
image

Natural, Victorian-inspired romantic makeup at Brock Collection.

Cushnie et Ochs
image

Glossy and bronzed skin and popsicle-pink lips at Cushnie et Ochs.

Escada
image

Nothing but a ruby red lipstick at Escada’s spring show.

Lanyu
image

A painterly eye fit for a museum at Lanyu.

Kim Shui
image

A stained lip and antique gold eye drawn in a dramatic rounded shape.

Longchamp
image

Nude lips, contoured skin, and kohl-rimmed smoky eyes at Longchamp.

Nicole Miller
image

Gunmetal smokey eyes with no other visible makeup was all that was needed backstage at Nicole Miller.

Badgley Mischka
image

Super-glossy skin with a sheer wash of fresh pink color on the eyes, lips, and cheeks backstage at Badgley Mischka.

Monse
image

Models at Monse wore subtle gold eyeshadow traced along their top and bottom lashlines and flicked out at the end like eyeliner with a stained pink lip.

Noon by Noor
image

One of spring’s biggest trends is shaping up to be super-glossy skin with sheer, minimal makeup done in neutral and nude shades, like seen at Noon By Noor.

Custo Barcelona
image

A wash of soft metallic eyeshadow got a sweet and feminine touch thanks to sheer berry lips and red nails.

Pamella Roland
image

A no-makeup makeup look (save for a healthy cream flush) backstage at Pamella Roland.

Tadashi Shoji
image

The glitter trend may never die. Case in point: Tadashi Shoji’s galaxy-inspired glittery eyes and nails.

Tibi
image

Sometimes the only piece of makeup you need is a sharp black eyeliner, traced along your inner waterline. With fresh and natural skin, black eyeliner has never looked so cool.

Christian Siriano
image

A stripe of acidic lime eyeliner was the only makeup statement needed backstage at Christian Siriano.

Kate Spade
image

To honor the late designer’s sparkle, models at Kate Spade wore a scattering of gold glitter across their eyelids.

The Blonds
image

If Disney Villains were also Sephora VIB Rouge members you’d get the high-impact look from The Blonds. We’ve never seen a Disney villain wear electric neon eyeliner and black lips—but we’ll take it.

Jonathan Simkhai
image

Makeup artist Grace Lee for Maybelline New York “juxtaposed the ethereal white and yellow fabrics in the Edwardian-inspired collection with a flushed cheek or berry-stained lip,” the brand stated in a release after the show. “The look is innocent but strong,” she said.

Hellessy
image

Red lips and a pop of red blush—with minimal eye makeup—backstage at Hellessy.

Brandon Maxwell
image

For Brandon Maxwell’s Texas-inspired show, models like Bella Hadid stomped the runway wearing a classic cat-eye flick with a touch of pink eyeshadow. The inspiration? “Baby barbies in Texas,” according to MAC Cosmetics.

Jeremy Scott
image

“The look is a bold foil-like lip in neutral shades. The metallic edginess is in keeping with the brashness of youth,” said makeup artist Kabuki backstage at Jeremy Scott. To get the look, he first used MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Edge To Edge then added Mixing Medium Eyeliner in thin layer over the entire lip. He then used a combination of MAC Dazzleshadow Liquid in Love Yourself, and MAC Glitter in Pink.

Ulla Johnson
image

Pink mascara never looked so pretty backstage at Ulla Johnson. Models also wore one of spring’s biggest trends: a lightly stained pink lip.

Tom Ford
image

Makeup artist Diane Kendal created a golden smoky eye for the ’70s-inspired Tom Ford show. Her team of makeup artists meticulously blended the eyeshadow and liner until the look was hazy and glam.

Fresh-faced models at Self Portrait got scribbled white lines of liner drawn around their eyes.

Tory Burch

Like most seasons, Tory Burch’s models walked the runway looking glowy and fresh-faced—with almost no visible makeup.

Anna Sui
image

An orange and pink flush carried over the cheeks, eyes, and brows backstage at Anna Sui.

Coach
image

Eyeliner took a downward turn (in a good way!) at Coach’s spring show. A handful of models walked the runway wearing a cat-eye that continued along the lower lashline and down into a triangle.

Oscar de la Renta
image

Models walked the Oscar de la Renta runway wearing MAC Cosmetics Dazzleliner in Holiday Time, which doesn’t even hit stores until next month. Makeup artists applied it precisely on the inner corner of the eye to add a touch of sparkle to the brown smoky eye.

Gabriela Hearst
image

A stripe of graphic cobalt gel eyeliner seen at Gabriela Hearst.

Michael Kors
image

Makeup artist Dick Page made it all about a flush of cream blush backstage at the Michael Kors show.

Lela Rose
image

Makeup artist Kelli J. Bartlett for Glamsquad created the lip at Lela Rose by layering several products. She started with MAC Lasting Sensation Lip Pencil traced all over the lip, then added a layer of MAC Cherry Lip Pencil to just the center of the lip, blurring everything together with a brush.

Prabal Gurung
image

Backstage at Prabal Gurung, models didn’t immediately jump into the hair and makeup chair. They first had their skin meticulously prepped by makeup artist Nam Vo using Whal Myung skincare. Then MAC Cosmetics makeup artist Diane Kendal enhanced their glowing skin with a touch of highlighter, conditioned lips, and smudgy brown eyes using the brand’s Coffee eyeliner.
