The Best New Fragrance Releases For Fall 2017

Fresh new perfumes to spritz and wear

Twilly is geared toward millennials, but you don't have to be one to fall in love with the fresh and spicy ginger-based scent. The burst of ginger slowly gives way to a hint of sweetness before turning into the most delicate and wearable take on a tuberose scent.

Hermès Twilly d'Hermès, $79, sephora.com.

If sweet and fruity scents are your thing—you're welcome. The newest iteration of Decadence opens with nashi pear, blackcurrant, and green ivy, slowly introduces jasmine petals, magnolia, and pink lily of the valley, then gets just a little but warmer with a base of cashmere woods, raspberry gloss, and white amber.

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau so Decadent, $82, nordstrom.com.

Just one liter of J'adore L'Or requires the sacrifice of 10,000 rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and tuberose flowers. The jasmine absolut from Grasse shines brightly in this more seductive iteration of the original J'Adore.

Dior J'adore L'Or Essence de Parfum, $140, nordstrom.com.

There's nothing quite like Velvet Haze. There's a very distinct sweet coconut note that lingers throughout the formula, but it's fighting against a base of fiery musks and patchouli. It has to be smelled to be believed.

Byredo Velvet Haze, $230, nordstrom.com.

If smelling this perfume doesn't make you instantly more chipper—with notes of redcurrants, citrus, green almond, cedarwood, and tonka—then just staring at the bottle will.

Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant Cologne, $140, nordstrom.com.

The first scent under the direction of designer Raf Simons could pass as a bright and airy unisex fragrance with notes like violet leaf absolute, white lavender, and musks.

The designer's debut scent is heavy on the jasmine. But if that's not your thing, you should buy the perfume anyway just for the sculptural bottle alone.

Despite the midnight-black bottle and word "night" in the name—you could totally get away with wearing this sweet and musky scent from nine to five.

Some scents get their sweetness from candy and fruit—but we're not a fan of anything that cloying. Nectar Love is sweet in the way raw honeycomb is: sticky but not saccharine.

DKNY Nectar Love Eau de Parfum, $98, ulta.com.
