Adele was honored by Prince Charles when she received the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2013. This means her real full name is now Miss Adele Adkins MBE. This award is given to reward chivalry, charity work, and public service.

Angela Lansbury

In 2014, Lansbury was given the title “Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire” by Queen Elizabeth II. She was actually a CBE before that, awarded in the 1994 Birthday Honours list.
Angelina Jolie

The actress received the title of Honorary Dame from Queen Elizabeth II in 2014 for her work on efforts to end sexual violence in war zones. She has traveled on over 40 missions to meet with refugees all around the world. She wrote the book Notes from My Travels and produced a movie chronicling her efforts.

In 2012, Winslet was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her services to drama. Winslet has been nominated for seven Academy Awards and won in 2009 for her role in The Reader. She also starred in Titanic, which is one of the top-grossing films of all time.

Smith was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1978 and became a Dame in 1990 for her services to the performing arts. She is also a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour for her services to drama, the third actress to receive the distinction. Smith won the Oscar for Best Actress in 1969 for her role in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
