We all know who Coco Chanel is, what she stands for, and of course, her fierce fighting spirit and determination. However, little is known of her days before living in Rue Cambon – days when she was simply known as Gabrielle.
The house of Chanel has unveiled a high jewellery collection in honour of the people who influenced, encouraged, and made a mark in the designer’s life before 1920. Named “Coco Avant Chanel”, the collection draws inspiration from two founding elements of the French fashion house: lace and ribbon. These two elements are created in hues of pink and grey, featuring diamonds, pearls, and other precious gems.
With 49 high jewellery pieces, eleven sets bears the names of Gabrielle Coco Chanel‘s loved ones. True to her humble beginnings, this collection embodies a sense of youth, the desire for sobriety, femininity, and an allure of innocence.
