The Beauty Secret’s Out—Charlotte Tilbury Is Coming To Sephora Singapore
And Beauty Editor Dana Koh took a magic beauty ride to London to celebrate
We’ve kept our lips sealed for long enough—Charlotte Tilbury is coming to Singapore! And you heard it here first…after Sephora, of course, which will be housing her makeup collections island wide come 10 October.
So now that we can finally break the news, let’s start from the very beginning with our trip to London to meet with the literal beauty queen, Charlotte Tilbury, as well as to discover the first ever Airbrush Flawless Laboratory.
From the moment the rose gold invitations were received in July, we were swept up in the glamour and beauty that can only be Charlotte Tilbury. Together with our trip itinerary came “The Gift of Red Carpet Skin” Travel Kit, a six-step ritual for glowing skin in-flight and upon our arrival in London—at prestigious mint-turned-hotel, The Ned, to be exact. Following two days traipsing Charlotte’s favourite spots across town—from a Tilbury Transformation at the Covent Garden boutique to a champagne lunch at Bob Bob Ricard and a cruise along the River Thames—the main event drew beauty insiders and influencers from around the world to the creative district of Eccleston Yards, for the ultimate day-time beauty soiree.
“Darlings, we’ve saved you a table in the front” said the ladies at the foyer, which had been dressed up as the beauty lab of our dreams, complete with an iPad bar for skin analysis and formulation discovery; interactive stations that brought the skincare science to life; and even a periodic table of 44 skin-coded foundation shades.
Once seated, the Charlotte Tilbury master class was in session. Each guest had a vanity desk of their own, fully equipped with makeup collections for the eyes, cheeks, lips and of course, complexion…including the new Airbrush Flawless Foundation. “This is the Holy Grail of foundations, darlings,” Charlotte affirmed, “this first-to-market hybrid serum-moisturiser-foundation is formulated with Replexium, a compound that significantly reduces the appearance of wrinkles by up to 22% after eight weeks of use—and works on your skin not just when you’re wearing it, but even after you’ve taken it off”.
Fusing the best of both complexion makeup and skincare, the brand brought a science lab in-house, alongside a team specialising in the Magic Beauty Skin Algorithm—a study on 650+ women to decode the perfect foundation match that colour-syncs to skin’s undertones and overtones. The result? A weightless, stretchable and full coverage foundation with a natural matte finish, fortified with a matrix of ground-breaking ingredients: Serum-levels of collagen-boosting Replexium; MossCellTec that increases hydration by up to 216%; AirCool that keeps skin feeling fresh; and C.T. Defence to shield skin from environmental pollutants. “I wanted that fresh, flawless, poreless complexion, and I needed the science behind it. In the world of foundation, what we have today is a complete innovation. Now let’s all try it out, darlings!” And just like that, we were swatching away.
Armed with an arsenal of beauty tools, Charlotte Tilbury makeup artists were on hand at every table to shade match, as well as to take us through the entire application process—from perfecting complexions with the new Airbrush Flawless Foundation and Magic Away Concealer, to creating one of Charlotte’s “10 Iconic Makeup Looks”, inspired by legendary muses.
A smoky bronze eye, sun-kissed cheeks and matte nude-pink lips formed my final look, using The Bella Sofia Luxury Palette, a dusting of Cheek To Chic in Ecstasy and of course, the Matte Revolution lipstick in Pillow Talk, which cushions pouts with the “your-lips-but-better” shade of rosy mauve in a sumptuous matte formula. “I used the new Magic Vanish Color Corrector in Medium to brighten and smoothen your under-eye area underneath the concealer as well” said my makeup artist, with a wink.
And in perfect timing, Charlotte came over just as we were putting on the finishing touches: “The message behind this (foundation) is “Flawless is a Feeling”. It should go beyond how you look but also how you feel.
