In some ways, 2017 is an important year for Dries Van Noten. In March, he staged his 100th runway show. For that spectacular, Van Noten brought back 54 models who have walked in his catwalk shows to take to his runway again. The collection, which will hit stores come fall, also witnessed the comeback of all the prints that have become an integral part of the Belgian designer’s oeuvre.
The fashion world is also waiting with bated breath for the release of “Dries”, a highly-anticipated documentary that provides a rare insight into Van Noten’s mind, philosophies and his work. The 90-minute film, directed by Reiner Holzemer, tracks the fiercely independent designer over the course of a year as he puts together four collections. “Dries” will make its Asian premiere in Singapore during A Design Film Festival, which is slated to run from 1 to 10 September. Ticket details have yet to be released, so watch this space for more updates. Meanwhile, check out the film’s trailer below:
