Every Look From The Surprise Saint Laurent Couture Show At Paris Fashion Week

Hedi Slimane showed 'Part 1' of his women's F/W 2016 Saint Laurent collection along with his men's showing earlier this year at the Palladium in Los Angeles. The collection was one of Slimane's best to date (sending critics into a dizzying spin), and his offering today in Paris was much of the same, with plenty of high octane—and beautifully constructed—looks.

The glamour of rock n' roll (rather then the grungy side), was Slimane's MO today in Paris, along with a heavy '80s-influence. Mini skirts and sharp shoulders paraded the catwalk, and most looks were finished off with a wide belt cinched at the waist.

Slimane also played with silhouettes, adding in bubble skirts, severely high shoulders and ruffles, and clashing patterns and colors.

LA is Slimane's biggest inspiration, and he continually draws upon the many aspects of the city in his collections. Gone were the baby doll dresses of youth and innocence, and in their stead a chorus line of sexy, grown-up minidresses.

Whether this was Slimane's swan song is yet to be determined, but it was certainly one of his strongest—and most directional shows—to date.
