Sunscreens are an essential part of our everyday routine. Some consider it the last step to our skincare or the first step of our makeup. Whichever school of thought you belong to, it’s important to know what you’re looking for. When shopping for your next sunscreen, pay attention to what’s on the label. An SPF only means protection against UVB rays while a PA label reflects UVA protection. Generally if you’re indoors or work in a office, an SPF 30 should suffice. But bear in mind that each time you blot or touch your face, a little bit of your sunscreen gets worn off. This is why it’s important to choose products with sun protection, even if it’s just a pressed powder or loose powder that you use for touch-ups.
At the same time, many sunscreens are now fortified with anti-pollution ingredients to fend off hazardous pollutant particles that can wreck havoc on your skin’s metabolism and melanin synthesis processes. So choose wisely!
