As the smallest part of a runway look, jewelry can be too easily overlooked. Ignore at your own peril, though, as designers aren’t likely to waste the extra creative energy turning out something so-so. Instead, the earrings, necklaces, and assorted baubles can be statement making on their own (and perfectly complete a designer’s overall vision).
With New York and London in the books, we’re on to Milan, where Gucci focused on punk with a spot of princess, courtesy of rhinestone-heavy earrings and diadems, and even Jil Sander‘s sophisticated pieces weren’t totally immune to a bit of grit, as evidenced by a pearl-dotted shoelace choker.
