The event amongst a jam-packed Paris Fashion Week schedule that drew Asia’s brightest stars was probably not the one you would have thought. Sun (also known as Aimee), launched her eponymous label of statement and fine jewellery in 2016, and has since found a cult following in fashion’s top tastemakers including Alicia Keys, Lizzo and Shu Qi.
Titled Rock Candy, the capsule—exclusive to LuisaViaRoma and available from February 28—offers an array of sparkling pieces, from cascading chandelier earrings to delicate crystal necklaces.
“At LuisaViaRoma, we look at different markets to support potential talent. We also like to explore markets that are less familiar to our clientele so that we can continue to surprise and innovate,” the Florence-based e-tailer shares in an exclusive statement with Harper’s Bazaar Singapore. “We were enamored by Yun Yun Sun, her eye-catching designs and the quality of her work, and we believe our audience will feel the same way, which is why we decided to launch the capsule during Paris Fashion Week. We believe being physically present is very important to showcase our talented partners to everyone gathering here.” As for Sun, this capsule with LuisaViaRoma of party-ready accessories was created to inject a bit of joy into a world emerging from the pandemic.

“This collection is more of a reflection of how I want my customers to feel after having been through so much in the last three years,” she shares. “I wanted to evoke a sense of joy and glamour. I wanted the pieces to stand out at parties even if you’re just wearing jeans and a T-shirt. They are supposed to be conversation starters that can help liven up a room.”
The Taipei native is the daughter of the late Jack Sun, former chairman of Pacific Electric Wire and Cable, and Nien-Tsu Ho, the vice chairwoman of Yuanta Securities. Sun can often be seen hopping from one dreamy seaside destination to another, dripping in plenty of her own pieces, of course. Of her own designs, what does she reach for the most? “I often find myself going for our bracelets or cuffs and earrings. They are easy and elegant pieces to add to any outfit,” she says.
