8 Amazing Fashion Tips That Busty Women Must Try

Just because you have big boobs doesn’t mean that you can’t break the rules.

by Michelle Varinata  /   June 4, 2018

Hide your boobs, hide your bra. Just kidding!

Since the beginning of mankind, never has anything been the center of controversy than a pair of two bouncing breasts. As much as we love and hate them, it’s a bummer that not many boob-friendly options are available for anyone built with the proportions of a Playboy Playmate.

Apart from the lack of clothing options, ridiculous rules include: A) not showing more skin than your cleavage, B) avoiding horizontal stripes, C) never go braless, D) avoiding boxy silhouettes, E) no high waistlines and necklines allowed (ditto for anything asymmetrical), F) staying away from ruffles, and G) always belt everything. Although we can break these rules, let’s remind ourselves that not every big breasted woman is built like Emily Ratajkowski.

For every curvy bombshell from Beyoncé to Pamela Anderson, you can channel their vibe to create groundbreaking #ootds. Girl, we got you covered (pun intended).

8 Amazing Fashion Tips That Busty Women Must Try
DO: Wear horizontal stripes (without a jacket)

Pamela Anderson may have swapped her red bathing suit for Brigitte Bardot-style summer dresses, but she’s never given up on showing off her famous curves in a sparkly Balmain mini dress.Despite most of us being told to wear a jacket, each little stripe can hold you in more than your beloved pair of Spanx. See ma, no jacket needed.

DO: Wear an ultra high waist and a neckline

Instagram’s favourite “It” girl Caroline Vreeland knows how to work her body. Given that wine and pasta are the key to maintaining her phenomenal physique, she does the unthinkable: wearing a pair of ultra high-waisted pants with a high neckline top. Despite both items being “no-nos”, it’s a surprisingly winning combo that can knock all of your friends’ #ootd game out of the park.Photo: Instagram

DO: Loosen all the buttons
custom

Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alum Dorothy Wang pulls all the stops to channel her inner J.Lo. Rather than keeping all the buttons on her shirt closed, she turns it into a pseudo plunging neckline top. If you have buyer’s remorse over an accidentally too-small top, don’t give it away to your friend!

DO: Wear ruffles on top

Volume on volume doesn't sound like a great idea; however, it works wonderfully. Like oil drawing out oil, ruffles minimise a big bust as seen on model/designer/podcast host Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor. If you are have a boyish build, ruffles can create the illusion of an hourglass waist.Photo: Instagram
DO: Wear an asymmetrical neckline

beyonce

Nobody does it better than Beyoncé when it comes to looking flawless in an Alexander Wang dress. Instead of showing skin, why not you show off your bust with an asymmetrical neckline like Queen B? Photo: Instagram
DO: Skip the belt

charli xcx

Singer/songwriter Charli XCX isn't afraid to break the rules in a baby blue Rochas dress. Empire waistlines might not seem like a boob-friendly garment, but it can minimise the bustline while whittling the waist. As a belt substitute, it can hide a food baby to a period bloat. Photo: Instagram
DO: Show boobs and legs

charlotte mckinney

No bra, no pants, but please keep the underwear. Model/actress Charlotte McKinney disrupts the Instagram algorithms in a crisp white Jacquemus plunging micromini shirt dress. Who knew that your partner's favourite closet staple can be a great naked dress substitute? Photo: Instagram
DO: Wear Baggy Top

Former Playboy cover girl turned model agency owner (FYI, it's called No Agency) Ashley Smith is not just another busty beauty. Rather than being seen in a form-fitting tee, she swaps it for a baggy sweatshirt for a street meets sexy look. P.S. Baggy tops are also great for a makeshift drop waist silhouette.Photo: Instagram
