In Clare Waight Keller’s Givenchy garden, flowers, newly sprouting from the thawing snow are at once feminine soft and fiercely strong. Silhouettes came in a cascade of minute details and also in large sweeping gestures, like enormous garden hats with brims sweeping the ground. Clean cut trouser suits followed billowing pleated gowns. The garden seemed brimming with sensational colour but also exquisite darkness, like all good love stories tend to be.
